Be careful how you treat yourself. If you are tactless to those around you and you put others down – you also treat yourself that way. Compassion comes from within – this is an important step to learn. Forgive yourself all the mishaps and what you deem as imperfections, so that your true inner beauty can shine. Review your opinions of yourself and of others – where have you been too self-righteous or plain rude? Take a moment to go over those situations – and then let them go. If you carry all those negative emotions around with you, they will weigh you down drastically. Be kind and loving you yourself today. Maybe you can treat yourself to a facial, massage or bubble bath, play your favourite songs, do your favourite sport or hobby, anything, that makes you feel really good about yourself. Take your time and consider your choices carefully and try not to put yourself down – ever. Ignoring yourself and your needs will not get you very far, neither will pretending that everything is fine. Adopting the ostrich method – putting your head in the sand – won't work for long and can seriously damage your self-esteem. Take a good look at yourself – warts and all – and then try and accept what you see. If you don't like what you see, you can change it. It might take some time, it might be hard work, but learning to really love and accept yourself is so worth all the effort!
