This poem by an unknown author to me is the essence of this card:
When you think you can't go on,
there will be a light you come upon,
that you can carry on
singing of sunshine and fun,
easier bear the burdens of your every day existence
and once again have strength, courage and faith to go the distance.
You feel that you are left out in the cold and nothing is going your way. Your whole focus is on everything that's negative in your life and you constantly find something new to worry about.
No matter how much others reach out and help you, in your mind it's never enough. You are giving away your power by letting it slip through your fingers.
You are feeling tired and drained of energy and feel that you can't take any more. The Five of Autumn wants to remind you that it's your own attitude that is draining you and making you feel like this.
Your inner power wants to surface and you are fighting to keep it down. It is this inner struggle that's causing you to feel emotionally drained.
By focussing only on everything that makes you unhappy, you set yourself on the path for more difficulties to arise. These are called self-fulfilling prophecies.
You can change this! As soon as you stop seeing yourself as a victim in any way you will start seeing shifts in your circumstances.
Put your foot down to yourself and say: “Stop. From today I release all blame with respect to other people or institutions, past conditions and present circumstances. I will stop putting myself down and worrying about everything.”
Every time you feel your mind drifting to worry or blame repeat it. The more you repeat it, the more you will feel the difference it makes.
