Gratitude is the antidote to anger and worry. Whenever any one of those show up, remember to count your blessings. Gratitude influences your well-being and will help your heart and soul to heal.
The Reiki Principles teach us “Just for today …”, meaning there is no place more powerful than the present moment, it is the gift of life, it is where life happens. It is in the present moment where you are connected to everything.
We mostly get angry about things that have happened – in past moments. Concentrating on the blessings of the present moment will help you release this anger in a constructive way.
Mostly we worry about things that could happen – about the future. Worry is a completely wasted emotion, as it has no bearing at all on the outcome of a situation, it just makes you feel bad and keeps you from actually living your life right now.
This doesn’t mean that you cannot speak up about things, it’s actually very important that you do. It means speaking up in a peaceful way, standing in your truth with an open heart and mind and without lashing out or spraying poison at others.
It also means to pick your battles wisely, to fight for a cause that you truly and wholeheartedly believe in. Doing this you will invite more blessings into your life that you can be truly grateful for.
