Your family is your greatest teacher and whether it feels like it or not, there is a reason why you were born into yours. Every person in your family has their own story and even though this doesn’t excuse any atrocious behaviour, it may allow you to gain a different perspective.
This doesn’t mean for you to make excuses for or ignore any wrong doings or red flags – it’s important to call those out or even report them – it means to separate yourself from the drama, so that you can learn your own personal lesson from the situation.
When you see a pattern emerging with you as the consistent factor, for example the way you are treated by others, take a closer look at what is being presented to you without apportioning blame. Acknowledging and accepting this pattern will allow for you to make necessary changes within you to release it.
What is coming up within you when you think about your family? There maybe lessons of self-worth, self-acceptance, unconditional love, trusting your own abilities, etc. coming up to be integrated. Deep reflection may bring you the courage to receive your lesson with gratitude and acceptance.
